Martin Chadwick has been the Chief Officer of Beat the Cold since the formation of the charity in 1999. The charity increasingly seeks to deliver energy advice face-to-face in the home, where the impact is greatest. This gives a deep understanding of the effects of fuel poverty on health and wellbeing, and a practical understanding of how policy decisions work out in the lives of vulnerable households.
As a director of a local infrastructure organisation and of a company founded to help the third sector win contracts, he understands the rapidly changing environment within which not-for-profit organisations must operate. Martin has a long working relationship with the NHS in Stoke and Staffordshire, including membership of the Emergency and Urgent Care Network Board.
